Amount: Type 1 - Expected Performance-Based Buydown for Systems under 100 kW (these incentives will be awarded as a one-time, up-front payment based on expected performanc): $2.50/W AC for residential and commercial systems, adjusted based on expected performance.
Type 2 - Performance-Based Incentives for Systems 100 kW and larger (incentives will be paid monthly based on the actual energy produced for a period of five years): $0.39/kWh for first 5 years for taxable entities.

Specifics
Cash incentive program for installation of solar projects in existing homes. At this time, the program only covers solar electric (photovoltaic, or PV) systems, although other technologies will be added later. The California Solar Initiative is a program of the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUP) but is administered by three utilities state wide: Pacific Gas & Electric Company (PG&E), San Diego Regional Energy Office (SDREO), and Southern California Edison (SCE).
