Specifics
SMUD offers low-interest loans to help customers finance energy efficient home improvements. Eligible products and measures include: central air conditioning systems, heat pumps, windows, insulation and solar electric (photovoltaic, or PV) installations.
Loans are made only to homeowners (whether or not they live on the property) and are currently being offered at 7.5% APR with terms from 36-120 months, depending on efficiency measure installed. Installations must be done by a SMUD-approved contractor.

Contact SMUD for a loan application. Upon approval, the contractor has 60 days to install the products and notify SMUD of the completion date.
